Been a minute since I’ve made a signal post! For any new visitors or anyone who just forgot what that means, signal posts are just updates: what the team’s doing, the state of the show, etc.
we’re on the radio!
First up, this Monday we’re gonna be on WLRH 89.3! Tune in to Tennessee Valley Mornings (the morning variety program on the station) for a quick segment featuring GHPR airing sometime between 5 and 9 AM (big window, right?). That afternoon at 4PM we’ll be on Curiosity Squad! This appearance is gonna be accessible on the WLRH website later that evening (click here — it’ll be on episode 8). If you miss it you can catch it again on HD3 at 3 PM the following Saturday. An additional segment will be airing in a later episode of Curiosity Squad so stay tuned for details on that one.

Investigation today!
You read that right! Around 6 or 6:30 this evening, we’ll be on location at Cosmic Salon & Tattoo!
For the most part, after early discussions with the staff, there’s definitely a trickster-y or playful attitude to whatever’s present, but there’s a whole lot going on here! I’m talking shadow figures, free-floating self-illuminating orbs of light, disembodied voices, and so much more! We’re all super excited at GHPR, especially because we get to debut some new equipment. This investigation will feature the field debut of our full CCTV system, our IR camera, and our SLS camera!

Signal & noise reorder?
I’ve been talking a lot about an episode based around Dead Children’s Playground (a local haunted playground at the edge of North Alabama’s largest cemetery). I’m still working on that episode (I’ll attach the intro below as proof) but it’s gonna be delayed by a little bit.
You see, I want us to be constantly putting out as much investigation related material as we can possibly muster. We’ve got two big investigations remaining in the year (Cosmic Salon and the Lester Hospital) and preparation for those trips are taking up a lot more time than normal. In turn, that’s stealing time from production on the DCP episode (which is stalled at the moment anyways (1)). Instead of making you guys wait, I’m gonna see just how quickly I can put an episode out when I’ve got the wind in my sails and I’m still freshly hyped about our latest investigation.
So, instead of the DCP episode releasing first, the Cosmic Salon episode is gonna go ahead and come out a week or two post-investigation. There’s gonna be a bit of a jump in technology levels between this one and the ones that are already recorded that are still to follow, I’m just tired of making you guys wait.

(1) I’ve been trying to verify a report about the history of that section of Maple Hill Cemetery and the playground but I’m having trouble with that. I’m working with the archivists at the local library and their extensive collections on the history of the area and not really having a whole lot of luck. If anything, it plays further into the themes of the episode (and the series as a whole). More than anything, I just need a break from the intensive research around that episode. I’m hoping this is the definitive piece on the legend of the Dead Children’s Playground.
