House of Confusion
I hope you enjoyed the latest episode! If you haven’t watched it yet, go do it! It’s linked in the blog post just before this one!
That one went through a lot of changes. There were at least three prior, complete versions of this episode, each much longer than the official release. It was one of those situations where you have so much content, so much footage, and all of it is just as good as any other part of it, so how do you narrow it down? How do you take a four hour stretch of footage and turn it into just twenty minutes without sacrificing what makes it what it is? Apparently the answer is through compromise — not everything is necessary to tell the story you want and, nine times out of ten, no matter how good the stuff you cut is the show will suffer with the added bloat.
If you watched the show you’ll know that most of our time is spent in the older, main house on the property. However, we actually did investigate the trailer next door. It was pretty wide-ranging. We completed a full baseline sweep of the trailer, performed an Estes Session, and actually got a couple of EVPS while we were there. This episode was originally titled “Readings for the Dead” because of the investigation that took place there. There was an attempt to make use of divinatory tools (namely tarot decks) to further increase our ability to communicate, but it didn’t really pan out.
I’m dropping by today to share just a little bit of that cut material. There’s no tarot readings present. Instead you’ll find linked the two EVPs we captured there and the only part of the trailer Estes Session that wasn’t lost (1). There’s a lot more that I could be adding here. Someday soon I’ll go through and I’ll get this, the full session from the UFO experiment, and so much more added, but that’s gonna have to wait until the day that that “Replacement Coming Soon” sticker down at the bottom of the page is ready to be removed. I have a plan for it, it’s just gonna be a little longer yet.
These two EVPs were captured at the trailer during the filming of “Chapel Perilous”. Both are played back to back with the interesting portion repeated and boosted at the end of each clip. You’ll probably need your headphones!
The only response that I have still saved from the trailer Estes Session. A moment later (after the recording here ends) the entity changed its tune and started telling us to stop after all. In the background of this you can hear Blake reading from the book included with his oracle deck. We were less prepared than I’d hoped we would be to use that deck and that’s the main reason why that segment was cut.
Hope you enjoyed the latest stuff! Come see me 10/19 at the Huntsville Ghost Walk and again at The Deep on 10/26 for our movie night! More details for both of those can be found here.
Stay weird!

1) This episode more than any other was plagued with equipment issues. It was so hot that, by simply being in the houses on the property, our gimbal was constantly overheating and failing. There’s a few clips that I remember from this one (that we all remember actually) that for some reason aren’t present on the SD card along with the rest of the footage (e.g. a longer and more complete Estes Session from the trailer, a very drawn out countdown to 8:30 in the main house, and more). There’s footage missing from the UFO summoning experiment, too (the part of that Estes Session where Gail, David, and Ryan [the entities that seem to keep showing up from place to place] tell us to turn off our recorders if we actually want anything to happen). I’m more inclined to suggest that this is a part of some kind of normal malfunction, but who knows, I guess.
